Reading and Conversation with Patricia Smith

In honor of what should have been Emmett Till's 79th birthday, poet Patricia Smith will perform work from her collection Incendiary Art, which forges incisive connections between the murder of Emmett Till and the Black Lives Matter movement. Following the reading, Dr. Derrick Harriell from the University of Mississippi led a conversation with Smith about her work and the ways Emmett Till's legacy still resonates.
